Audi Sport TT Cup: First triumph of the season for Lappalainen

The Finnish driver Joonas Lappalainen surprisingly won the race 1 of Audi Sport TT Cup at Nurburgring after he has started from the 7th position.

Championship leader Sheldon van der Linde started from pole position but he had a great battle with Dennis Marschall who managed to take the lead. With four laps to go, van der Linde fought back and it looked like he will score fourth win of the season.

In the finish, straight from nowhere, Lappalainen took the lead and scored his first win in the series in 2016. His compatriot Emil Lindholm finished second while Gosia Rdest from Poland completed the podium.
