Maximilian Günther scored his fourth win of the season in the Formula 3 European Championship today at Nurburgring, to confirm his second place in the championship standings behind Lance Stroll. After Stroll won two Saturday’s races, both ahead of Günther, the German driver strikes back today and wins ahead of Stroll. Niko Kari finished third and the best among rookies.

Günther and Stroll started from the front row on the grid and remained in the same position until the end. In a fact, the order of seven leading drivers from the opening lap remained unchanged for 26 laps. Niko Kari jumped from fifth to third, with Callum Ilott following him and progressing from sixth to fourth. Nick Cassidy dropped from fourth to fifth while Joel Eriksson lost three places during the opening lap, dropping from third to sixth. George Russel started seventh and finished seventh.

While the leading seven had a peaceful race, there were few battles for remaining spots in the Top 10. At the end, Sergio Sette Camara finished eighth, ahead of Anthoine Hubert and Ben Barnicoat.
