Lance Stroll - number one on the car, number one at the track

Lance Stroll (Prema Powerteam) proves his superiority in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship by winning the second race in a row to even more extend his championship lead in the points standings. After Saturday’s win in the Race 2 at Red Bull Ring, Stroll again converted his pole position to victory on Sunday. It was his third victory in twelve races.

Callum Ilott (Van Amersfoort Racing), who is second in the championship standings, also finished second in the Race 3 at Red Bull Ring. Stroll’s teammate Maximilian Günther completed the podium.

F3 youngsters had a lots of problems with respecting the track limits

Ben Barnicoat (Hitech GP) managed to finish fourth. He passed by Joel Eriksson after the restart on Lap 7, which followed after three-lap safety car period cause by Mikkel Jensen’s gravel excursion on Lap 3. Erikkson later lost one more position and finished sixth, behind Sergio Sette Camara. Other points scorers in the Top 10 were Guanyu Zhou, Niko Kari, Ralf Aron and David Beckmann.

The F3 youngsters had a lots of problems with respecting the track limits at Red Bull Ring circuit, so many of them were penalized during the races with drive-through penalties or after the races with time penalties. Because of that, Callum Ilott lost the podium place yesterday.

The next round of the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is scheduled for June 24-26, at Norisring.
