Formula V8 3.5: Strategic victory for Louis Deletraz at Paul Ricard
Louis Deletraz (Fortec Motorsports) clinches his second Formula V8 3.5 Series victory today at Circuit Paul Ricard. The 19-year-old rookie from Switzerland steals the victory from poleman Roy Nissany (Lotus), after an early pit stop which gained him an advantage of few seconds. Nissany was faster in the closing laps but Deletraz was too far in front, so at the end the gap was 2.8 seconds. For Nissany, it was the third second place finish this season. Egor Orudzhev, the winner of Saturday’s race at Paul Ricard, completed the Sunday’s podium.
In the series’ classification, after four rounds and eight races, Tom Dillmann remained in the lead. He finished fourth and sixth at Paul Ricard. Louis Deletraz, who is the leader in the rookie classification, is second in the overall standings, 22 points behind Dillmann. Aurelien Panis, who was eighth and fourth at Paul Ricard, is third in the championship standings with 92 points.
The next round is scheduled for July 23-24 at Silverstone.
