Great victory for Sirotkin at Hockenheim
Sergey Sirotkin scored second win in a row in GP2 Series. The Russian driver of ART Grand won the feature race at Hockenheimring to continue his rise to the top of the standings.
Sirotkin started from pole position but lost position in lap 4 after Raffaele Marciello overtook him. Later in the race Sirotkin managed to retake the lead but he made mandatory pit-stop under virtual safety car what is not allowed, so he had to pit again.
With not so much time remaining, Sirotkin pushed hard to get back to the top of the grid and finally did it on the penultimate lap, overtaking Marciello with a stunning move. He won the race well ahead of the second-placed Luca Ghiotto while the series leader Pierre Gasly finished third, leaving Marciello on the fourth position.
