Johnny Sauter is the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Champion
Johnny Sauter is the 2016 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion. For the 38-year-old Wisconsin-born driver of GMS Racing this is first NASCAR title in a career, after he was close two times in previous years, finishing 2nd in 2011 and 3rd in 2010.
The winner of the Ford EcoBoost 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the last race of the season, is William Byron. He wasn’t one of four championship contenders but, as a comfort, he won the Rookie of the Year award. It was his seventh win of the season.
Tyler Reddick finished second while Johnny Sauter came home third, best among four driver who qualified for the Championship 4 round. Matt Crafton was seventh, ahead of two other title pretenders Christopher Bell and Timothy Peters.
