WTCC: Pechito Lopez completes double at Nurburgring

Jose Maria Lopez completed a perfect weekend at Nurburgring after he has won the main race too. The reigning WTCC champion was the fastest in the first race and managed to repeat another good performance in the second event in Germany.

After he has won the opening race, Pechito Lopez had a pole position for the main race. After the start, the Argentinian managed to resist Michelisz’s attack and stayed at the top. Tom Coronel, Tiago Monteiro, and Yvan Muller missed this race after their cars were badly damaged in the opening race.

Norbert Michelisz finished 2nd in the main race at Nurburgring

Citroen driver confidently drove to another victory completing double crown at Nurburgring while Norbert Michelisz must be happy with the second position. Tom Chilton also has a reason to be delighted as he managed to grab the last place at the podium. The British driver gained Top 3 in both races.

Rob Huff was fourth in the main race, Mehdi Bennani finished fifth while Nick Catsburg at the sixth place was the best among Lada drivers. Fredrik Ekblom, Thed Bjork, Gabriele Tarquini and Hugo Valente also scored points in race 2.
