The Stage 6 of the 2017 Dakar Rally, between Oruro and Bolivian capital La Paz, is cancelled due to extreme climatic conditions. As Sunday was planned as the rest day, all the competitors now will have two rest days before the event resume on Monday.

The rally organisers said that the people in charge of the reco of today’s stage course informed that the road is unpracticable, so there was no other solution than cancellation. The fifth stage was also hit by bad weather conditions so many crews didn’t reach the bivouac until night. The roads are flooded so many competitors and assistance crews had problems to reach Oruro.
