GP3 Series: South African Hyman triumphs at Spielberg
Raoul Hyman (Campos Racing) captures his maiden GP3 Series victory today at Spielberg’s Red Bull Ring after starting from pole position in the second race of the second season’s weekend. Giuliano Alesi (Trident) finished in the second place, ahead of Nirei Fukuzumi (ART Grand Prix) who stole the third place from Ryan Tveter in the penultimate lap.
That move brings Fukuzumi the first place in the championship standings after four races, with one-points gap (54:53) over yesterday’s winner George Russell, who finished sixth today.
The race was marked by spectacular accident of Dorian Boccolacci on the last lap, whose car rolled over multiple times after a contact with Alessio Lorandi. Fortunately, the young Frenchman walked away unhurt.
