NorthEast Grand Prix: Double triumph for Porsche at Lime Rock Park

Porsche scores victories in both classes of the NorthEast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park, the eighth round of the 2017 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship reserved for GT cars only. The #911 Porsche 911 RSR of Porsche GT Team, driven by Patrick Pilet and Dirk Werner, won the GTLM category. In the GTD class, the winning car is the #73 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Park Place Motorsports, driven by Patrick Lindsey and Jorg Bergmeister.

In total, Porsche crews captured four of six podium spots at Lime Rock Park. In the GTLM class, the #912 Porsche finished in the second place, driven by Gianmaria Bruni and Laurens Vanthoor. Bruni started from pole and remained in the lead until one mistake forced him to go into the gravel, giving the first place to the teammate in the #911 car. The #24 BMW M6 GTLM of RLL Racing, driven by John Edwards and Martin Tomczyk, finished the race in the third place.

In the GTD class, Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow captured second place in the #48 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of Paul Miller Racing. Third step on the GTD podiums was reserved for Patrick Long and Daniel Morad, who contested in the #28 Porsche 911 GT3 R of  Alegra Motorsports.
