Maiden TCR Series victory for Borkovic
Dusan Borkovic scored his first win in the 2017 TCR International Series after being fastest in the race 2 at Bahrain International Circuit.
Ferenc Ficza in Seat started from pole position in the race 2 of the series second round, with Dusan Borkovic in Alfa Romeo on his side. The Serbian driver had an excellent start and immediately took the lead from the Hungarian who soon dropped to the 3rd after being overtaken by James Nash in Craft-Bamboo Racing’s Seat. Ficza soon made a couple of mistakes and dropped to the 6th place, behind Jean-Karl Vernay, Hugo Valente, and the winner of the Saturday’s race Roberto Colciago.
Borkovic had a comfortable 5-seconds lead and pretty easily clinched his first win of the season and maiden in TCR career, in front of Nash and Valente. Vernay finished 4th in the race to take the lead in the championship with an advantage of only one point to Borkovic and two to Colciago.
The next TCR International Series round will go on May 6-7 at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.
