The reigning TCR champion Stefano Comini becomes the fifth different winner in the fifth race of the 2017 TCR International Series season today at Spa-Francorchamps. It is Comini’s tenth TCR International victory in the third season of competing in the series.

The driver of the #1 Audi RS3 LMS of Comtoyou Racing started from pole at the iconic Belgian Grand Prix track and claimed his first win of the season with 3.547 seconds advantage over 17-year-old Belgian driver Ben Lessennes in the #63 Honda Civic of Boutsen Ginion Racing. An another teenager, Hungarian Attila Tassi, finished third in the #9 M1RA Honda Civic, holding off Leopard Racing’s VW Golf of Jean-Karl Vernay in the closing laps.

Tassi had a fantastic start, jumping from P6 to the lead before the first turn. Comini returned into the lead on lap 2 and after that he hasn’t been challenged any more. Lessennes also overtook Tassi on lap 3. Behind the leading trio, we saw many intense duels in the 24-car field, including few contacts but without bigger incidents. At the end, Jean-Karl Vernay, Frederic Vervisch, Rob Huff, Edouard Mondron, Tom Coronel, Pepe Oriola and Pierre-Yves Corthals completed the top 10.
