VLN - round 3: Ferrari beats German rivals at Nürburgring Nordschleife
The #22 Ferrari 488 GT3 wins the 59th ADAC ACAS H&R Cup, the third round of the 2017 VLN endurance series (Langstrecken Meisterschaft Nürburgring) at Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit. The drivers in the victorious car of the Wochenspiegel Team Monschau were Georg Weiss, Jochen Krumbach and Oliver Kainz.
The trio in the #22 Ferrari started the race second on the grid, behind #59 Porsche 911 GT3 R of Manthey Racing. Sven Muller was the fastest qualifier at 24,358m long circuit with a lap time 7:57.424.
After four hours of racing and 27 laps around the iconic Nordschleife circuit, the #22 Ferrari beats the second-placed #22 Manthey Racing’s Porsche by 52.755 seconds. The drivers in the #12 car were Mathieu Jaminet, Otto Klohs and Lars Kern. Jeffrey Schmidt and Michael Ammermuller finished in the third place with #28 Audi R8 LMS of Montaplast by Land-Motorsport.
The next three cars were also German-made SP9 class machines: the #59 Manthey Racing Porsche 911 GT3 R, the #44 Landgraf Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GT3 and the #36 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW Z4 GT3.
