Mahindra Racing’s Jerome d’Ambrosio triumphed in the second round of the 2018/2019 Formula E Championship season at the streets of Marrakesh. It’s his third FE victory in a career and the first since he moved from Dragon Racing to Mahindra Racing for Season Five.

After his third-place finish in the season-opening race in Saudi Arabia, Jerome d’Ambrosio is the championship leader with 40 points on his account, twelve points more than Race 1 winner Antonio Felix da Costa and defending champion Jean-Eric Vergne.

Virgin Racing’s Robin Frijns and Sam Bird finished on a podium at Marrakesh. Other point scorers are Alexander Sims (BMW i Andretti Motorsport), Jean-Eric Vergne, Andre Lotterer (both Techeetah), Lucas di Grassi (Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler), Sebastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams), Mitch Evans (Jaguar) and Daniel Abt (Audi).

The decisive moment of the race was the contact between a race leader Antonio Felix da Costa and his teammate Alexander Sims. With fifteen minutes on a clock until the end, Sims wanted to overtake da Costa but it turned to be a disastrous decision because da Costa went into the wall while Sims dropped to the fourth place.

The championship will continue on January 26 at Santiago de Chile.
