Mick Schumacher dominated in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship weekend at Red Bull Ring, taking two victories and one second-place finish in the ninth round of the season. He’s now the leader in the championship with one more round to go, the season’s finale at Hockenheimring.

After three wins in the previous round at Nurburgring, the 19-year-old son of Michael Schumacher almost scored his second hat-trick this weekend at Spielberg. He was on a pole position in all three races at Red Bull Ring, winning on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. On Sunday afternoon, he finished second behind Prema Theodore Racing teammate Robert Shwartzman.

Prema drivers dominated at Spielberg and the team secured another championship title

Shwartzman finished on a podium in all three races, in the second place in Race 1 and the third place in Race 2. The other drivers who reached a podium were Alex Palou (3rd in Race 1), Marcus Armstrong (2nd in Race 2) and Jonathan Aberdein (3rd in race 3).

After nine rounds and 27 races, Mick Schumacher leads the championship with 329 points, forty-nine more than Dan Ticktum. Marcus Armstrong is third, twenty points behind Ticktum. Theoretically, all three have a chance to take the F3 title at season’s finale at Hockenheim but it’s easy to predict that Mick Schumacher will dictate the championship fight during the last three races.
