Pulcini wins at Yas Marina, Hubert secured the GP3 Series title
Anthoine Hubert (ART Grand Prix) is the 2018 GP3 Series champion! The 22-year-old driver secured a title with the third-place finish in the first race of the season’s finale at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit. Hubert is the last GP3 Series champion in the competition that was launched in 2010. Next year, it would be converted into the FIA Formula 3 Championship.
The race winner was Leonardo Pulcini (Campos Racing), claiming his second victory of the season. The third man on a podium was David Beckmann (Trident). Ahead of Sunday’s last race of the season, Hubert had a 31-point advantage over Nikita Mazepin (ART Grand Prix), who finished fifth in Saturday’s race after starting from pole.
On Sunday, Mazepin scored his fourth win of the season, confirming his runner-up spot in the championship. He shared a podium with Jake Hughes (ART Grand Prix) and Simo Laaksonen (Campos Racing).
