The 40-year-old driver of the #41 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Fusion won the 500-lap race at 0.533-mile oval after leading just 24 laps, defeating Kyle Larson by 0.367 seconds on the finish line. Kurt Busch grabbed the lead from teammate Clint Bowyer at the restart on lap 478 and stayed in front until the chequered flag, surviving one more restart on lap 488.

Chase Elliott finished third, ahead of Joey Logano, Erik Jones and Clint Bowyer and Ryan Blaney, who led race-high 121 laps. Alex Bowman, Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick completed the top 10.

Fifteen drivers completed all 500 laps, twenty-nine were running at the end of the race.

There are just two more races in the regular season of the NASCAR Cup Series. The first is Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway on September 2.
