Blancpain GT Series: M-Sport Bentley triumphant at Circuit Paul Ricard

The #107 Bentley Continental GT3, driven by Jules Gounon, Steven Kane and Jordan Lee Pepper, has won the Circuit Paul Ricard 1000kms, the third round of the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup.

The trio in the #107 Bentley converted pole position into a victory that would fulfill Bentley’s celebration of the 100th anniversary. This victory marked Bentley’s return to the top podium spot after two years. Previously, Bentley Team M-Sport was victorious in the same event in 2017.

After six hours of racing, Jules Gounon crossed the finish line with comfortable advantage of 37.097 seconds ahead of SMP Racing’s #72 Ferrari 488 GT3.  The drivers of the #72 Ferrari were Miguel Molina, Mikhail Aleshin and Davide Rigon. They were joined on the podium by Dennis Lind, Andrea Caldarelli and Marco Mapelli, the trio in the #563 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 of Orange 1 FFF Racing Team.

In the Silver Cup class, the #90 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3 was the victorious car, driven by Felipe Fraga, Nico Bastian and Timur Boguslavskiy. Akka ASP team also took victory in the Pro-Am class, with the all-French line-up in the #87 Mercedes-AMG. The drivers were Jean-Luc Beaubelique, Mauro Ricci and Jim Pla. The Am Cup category was won by the #188 Garage 59 Aston Martin Vantage AMR, driven by Chris Harris, Alexander West and Chris Goodwin.
