Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 drivers Luca Ludwig and Sebastian Asch (Team Zakspeed) are the winners of the ADAC GT Masters third round second race at Spa-Francorchamps. It was more driving on the racing track than racing as the conditions were very bad.

Rainy day in the Ardennes delayed the start of the race leaving drivers to wait in their cars after formation lap. After two extra formation laps, race finally started but it was obvious that nobody will not risk in these circumstances. Also, race was shortened to 51 minutes.

Luca Ludwig in Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 and Daniel Keilwitz in Corvette Z06 R GT3 started well and moved up two positions, to second and fourth respectively, while Bernd Schneider kept leading position. Keilwitz kept moving up and soon he was in front of Uwe Alzen in BMW Z4 GT3, while Saturday race winner Dirk Baumann was fifth, but soon dropped to seventh.

MRS GT Racing’s #23 Nissan didn’t started and missed this a bit chaotic race which was slowed down again in fifth lap after safety car went out on the track. Pit window was opened with 26 minutes to go and every team had to be very quick as the time and weather conditions were completely against real racing.

After drivers change was completed, only 15 minutes was remaining. Harald Proczyk kept HP Racing’s #42 on first place, Andreas Wirth moved up to second in Callaway Competition’s Corvette, leaving Sebastian Asch, Florian Stoll and C.Abt Racing’s Jordan Lee Pepper in Audi R8 LMS Ultra on fifth.
