Antonio Giovinazzi is the new Master of Formula 3

Antonio Giovinazzi (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin), the current FIA Formula 3 Championship runner-up, has won 25th edition of Masters of Formula 3, which was held this weekend at Circuit Park Zandvoort. He won the 12-lap qualifying race on Saturday and repeated his dominant pace in the main race today. After 25 laps George Russell finished second and doubled the celebration of Carlin Racing. Sergio Sette Camara (Motopark) finished third.

Giovinazzi started the main race from pole and remained in the lead until the end, with a comfortable gap of 8.4 seconds. Markus Pommer (Motopark) started very badly from second place and dropped down the order. George Russell, Sergio Sette Camara and Sam MacLeod (Motopark) went three-wide through the first corner and Russell took second place. Their positions also remained unchanged until the end.

“I’m really happy with the Masters victory and I’m the first Italian to win this race. I focussed on the start as that was the most important thing. That went really well and from there I was able to control the race. We will now get prepared for the next event of the FIA F3 European Championship at the Nurburgring,” said Giovinazzi.
