Audi Sport TT Cup - Nürburgring: Dominant victory for Jan Kisiel
Jan Kisiel scored his fifth victory in the maiden season of Audi Sport TT Cup at Nürburgring. After yesterday’s race which was stopped halfway, all 16 laps were ran today, with Jan Kisiel at the front of the pack from start to finish. There were lots of fights and changes of positions behind him, Dennis Marschall and Loris Hezemans were the most successful in that duels and scored podium places.
Emil Lindholm, who started from the front row, finished fifth, ahead of Shaun Thong. Aditya Patel, guest driver from India, was sixth overall and fastest of five guest drivers. Alexis van de Poele, Nikita Misyulya, Gosia Rdest and Dominik Peitz rounded Top 10. Nicolaj Moller Madsen, who was second in championship standings before this race, finished only 12th.
After ten races and five victories Jan Kisiel collected 199 points. Nicolaj Moller Madsen remains on second with 164 points and Dennis Marschall is third with 163,5 points. With one round and two races remaining, in three weeks at Hockenheim, only those three drivers are still in the game for the championship title.
Today’s race was shortly stopped on Lap 1 after guest driver Nikolaus Schelle crashed into Sebastian Landy, who spun in front of him in Turn 2. Mikaela Ahlin-Kottulinsky retired after first lap, so only 17 drivers fnished the race. Joonas Lappalainen and Christoph Hofbauer didn’t start after yesterday’s crash.
In the guest entrants’ classification, the only professional driver prevailed in both races of the weekend, as expected. With positions five and six overall, the Indian Audi GT driver Aditya Patel clinched a double victory.
In race one, GRIP host and former rally pro Niki Schelle (D) and journalist Guido Naumann (D) completed the guest drivers’ podium. After round two, Patel celebrated his victory on the podium together with Playmate Doreen Seidel (D) and the second GRIP host, Matthias Malmedie (D).
