Blancpain GT Series: HTP Motorsport and Belgian Audi Club WRT happy after a fantastic day at Brands Hatch

  • Blancpain GT Series HTP Motorsport

The second round of the Blancpain GT Sprint Series was held at Brands Hatch and was marked by two podium finishes of HTP Motorsport.

HTP Motorsport’s Mercedes #86, with Jules Szymkowiak and Bernd Schneider as the drivers, scored a dominant win in the Qualifying race. The Dutch-German pair was 21 seconds faster than the ISR’s Audi #74 with Franck Perera and Marlon Stockinger.

Mercedes #86 took the lead from ISR’s car early in the race while Belgian Audi Club WRT’s #33 moved up to third and stayed there until the end. The race wasn’t very interesting as nobody was prepared to take a big risk, probably saving for the Main race.

In the Main race, Belgian Audi Club WRT’s car #33, with the driver Christopher Mies and Enzo Ide, claimed the very tight win. They were only 0.586s faster than the winners of the first race of the day, HTP Motorsport’s pair Bernd Schneider and Jules Szymkowiak. M-Sport Bentley’s boys Maxime Soulet and Andy Soucek finished at third place, 8.154s behind the winners.
