Borkovic enters TCR championship

Double European Touring Cars Championship title winner Dusan Borkovic is returning to the world stage as he will compete in TCR series in 2016.

Serbian driver will drive new Seat Leon as a member of Hungarian B3 Racing team. Borkovic also had offers from other TCR teams, as well from some WTCC teams and squads from the other series. At the end, he decided to stay in team with which he won ETCC title in 2015.

“TCR is huge challenge for me. I am delighted to continue with B3 Racing team at world stage, after winning European title. After a long deliberation I choose TCR as a perfect series for independent entrants with good support from manufacturers. TCR is better choice than WTCC in which factory teams are in main focus,” said Borkovic.

He also added that TCR’s ambition to become most important tourcing championship, also helped him to make a decision.

“I am very excited. In the coming weeks I will travel to USA for the preseason. Tests are going from February and I’ll be ready for the start of the season in Bahrain, during first weekend in April. My team is still in negotiations with sponsors, so I hope there won’t be any problems with budget”.
