British GT: TF Sport wins two-hour race at Spa

The sixth round of the British GT Championship was held at Spa circuit and TF Sport’s #11 Aston Martin Vantage scored first win in 2016.

Team Parker Racing’s Bentley Continental #31 with the drivers Rick Parfitt Jr and Seb Morris had a pole position for the fourth time this year while Ecurie Ecosse’s McLaren had P2, but TF Sport’s pair of drivers, Jon Barnes and Mark Farmer won the two-hour race, only 0.647s ahead of Parfitt and Morris. This is third British GT victory of the season for TF Sport, but first for Barnes and Farmer. Interestingly, Barnes last victory in British GT achieved back in 2008.

Oliver Morley and Daniel Juncadella of guest team Black Falcon Racing claimed the final step on the GT3 podium, finishing 4.887s behind the winning car.

In the GT4 class, Lanan Racing’s pair Joey Foster and Alex Reed claimed maiden British GT victory. The drivers of Ginetta G55 were 4.371s faster than Graham Johnson/Mike Robinson of Optimum Motorsport while Generation AMR’s Jack Mitchell and Matthew Graham finished third well behind the top two.
