BTCC: Andrew Jordan and Pirtek together till the end of 2018
The 2013 BTCC champion Andrew Jordan extended his sponsorship deal with Pirtek for a further three years. This means that that the 26-year-old Jordan will have secured a back-up for at least three more seasons in British Touring Car Championship. He remains free to change a team if he is not satisfied with current the squad.
Jordan has been sponsored by Pirtek since 2004, when he was involved in rallycross racing. Jordan joined the BTCC in 2008, when Pirtek was a supporting sponsor for the Eurotech Racing team and Jordan’s Honda Integra. In 2010, Pirtek entered the championship with its own team. The first car was Vauxhall Vectra and from 2012 it was Honda Civic, with which Jordan triumphed in 2013.
“There is tremendous loyalty from both sides of this partnership and I’m extremely proud to extend our contract with Pirtek for another three seasons. I’m absolutely delighted to be able to plan ahead with the knowledge that I have a proactive, supportive and incredibly enthusiastic sponsor alongside me. This long-term commitment will allow me to be in the best position to challenge for more race wins and another BTCC title,” said Jordan.
In the actual season, Jordan is a member of MG Triple Eight team and he is driving MG6 GT. Currently he is sixth in the championship standings. After 15 races he is still without wins, with four podiums.
