BTCC veteran Nick Foster will replace Andy Priaulx at the wheel of BMW 125i M Sport next weekend at Rockingham Circuit in the 8th round of British Touring Car Championship. Priaulx announced earlier that he will miss Rockingham because of clashing commitments (ELMS race at Paul Ricard) so West Surrey Racing had to find a replacement for #8 Team IHG Rewards Club car.

After careful consideration of 16 interested drivers, both IHG Rewards Club and West Surrey Racing opted for Foster’s return. He is the most logical choice because he spent four seasons with WSR in the BTCC and raced for the squad from the beginning of the BMW 1-Series project in 2013. Last year Foster helped WSR to secure Teams’ and Independent Teams’ titles.

Two years ago, Foster scored point finishes in all three races at Rockingham so the team expected good results this weekend. Before the race at Rockingham Foster will test the car today at Donington Park.

”I can’t wait to work with our championship winning team again and look forward to seeing many familiar faces and old friends in the BTCC paddock. It will be serious business over the weekend, however, as I hope to help the team in their battle for constructors’ and teams’ honours. The BMW 1-Series is a car I know very well, WSR is a team I’ve worked with for many years and I also really enjoy racing at Rockingham, so I am delighted to be given this opportunity,” said Foster.
