Citroen is really incredible, says Loeb
Sebastien Loeb, Citroen’s WTCC driver, said that he is excited but not surprised with Citroen’s results in the championship.
After just a year-and-a-half, the French manufacturer has claimed 31 victories in 39 races in the WTCC, something that Loeb has described as a fantastic achievement. However, the former World Rally Champion added that he is not surprised with that result.
“I was confident that Citroen would be able to make a good car because I always had a good car in WRC. I can really trust the team because I know they know how to build a racing car. They are always concentrated on every detail, they try to do everything to perfection every time,” told Loeb speaking to the official FIA WTCC website.
“To win so many races after just two years is for sure surprising and impressive and I would just want to congratulate to the team for the job its done. It’s really incredible,” concluded the French driver.
Citroen won both the Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ titles in Loeb’s debut season in 2014 and is on the way to repeat the same success in 2015 as reigning champion Jose Maria Lopez tops Drivers’ standings and in the Manufacturers’ championship Citroen’s advantage is almost unattainable.
