Tom Blomqvist clinched his first DTM victory after just 14 races in the series after a dominant performance in race 2 at Oschersleben. He also contributed to a perfect weekend for BMW as Timo Glock won the race day earlier.

He started from second place and overtook Augusto Farfus just after the start. Briton Blomqvist was in command throughout all 41 laps beating his teammate Farfus who was well behind. Just like on Saturday, BMW occupied the podium as the reigning champion finished third.

Another BMW driver, Antonio Felix da Costa, finished fourth, while Pascal Wehrlein in Mercedes was fifth in what was enough to strengthen his lead in the championship race.

Again, Audi disappointed as Jamie Green was their best finisher on eighth and was only Ingolstadters driver in top 10. Title challenger Mattias Ekstrom tried everything he could to get into the points zone, but left empty-handed again.

With four races remaining until the end of the season, Pascal Wehrlein is in the lead of the drivers’ standings with 140 points from Mattias Ekström (126 points). Edoardo Mortara (110 points) and Jamie Green (107 points) are in third and fourth place respectively, while Bruno Spengler is the best-placed BMW driver with 104 points in fifth place.
