Former Formula 1 driver set for DTM test
Giedo van der Garde will get a chance to test DTM Mercedes next month during traditional rookie test-session in Jerez.
;
Dutch driver has competed in Formula 1 during 2013, while last year he spent as Sauber’s reserve. That partnership has ended bitterly after legal stand-off as he lost promised seat for the Australian Grand Prix.
;
Now he is ready to return in racing and could became third former Formula 1 driver in the DTM as Paul Di Resta is already one of the Mercedes drivers, while Timo Glock is part of BMW team.
;
Anyway, Mercedes’ drivers line-up for 2016 depends mostly on a decision about future of Pascal Wehrlein. Reigning champion still can get a chance in Formula 1, but team officials earlier told that talented German can stay in DTM for another season.
