GP2: Haryanto tops practice session at Silverstone

Campos Racing driver Rio Haryanto was the fastest in GP2 practice session at Silverstone beating Alex Lynn (DAMS) by only 0.003 seconds.

Haryanto became fifth different driver this season to top practice session this year, even after Alexander Rossi (Racing Engineering) first set time to beat. His time was quickly beaten by Stoffel Vandoorne (ART Grand Prix), while Haryanto was third in that moment. But, Indonesian driver soon moved up leaving Vandoorne a tenth behind.
Nothing important had happened in the middle and the late phase of the session except Lynn’s improvement, just three thousandths adrift of Haryanto. Vandoorne finished third, one of the local favorites Nick Yelloly was fourth and Rossi was shuffled to fifth place, just ahead of the pair of Frenchmen – Arthur Pic and Pierre Gasly.

After taking part in Free practice session of the Formula 1, Raffaele Marciello finished on eighth place with Sergey Sirotkin and Jordan King completing the top 10.
Start of the GP2 qualifying at Silverstone is scheduled for 16.55 CET.
