Haas still looking for drivers
Haas F1 team will join Formula 1 in 2016, but is still unknown who will drive for them. All other staff members and personnel are already secured, so many fans are curious to see who will be icing on the cake.
During the last few weeks Esteban Gutierrez was seen as a favorite to fill the seat in one of Haas’ cars. Team owner Gene Haas praised Ferrari’s reserve driver saying that 24-year-old Mexican has a potential and solid experience. Gutierrez is also very popular in Mexico and USA which means that he is in good position to bring some valuable sponsors in the team.
Another Haas’ target is Nico Hulkenberg. This 27-year-old German enjoys probably best season in his career, but it is unclear whether he is ready to leave Force India and jump into the adventure of unknown as he probably could get better conditions in some other team.
Jean-Eric Vergne has best CV of all drivers at Haas’ shortlist, but Frenchman already signed new contract to stay in Formula E and chances to change his mind are quite small.
Alexander Rossi is fourth option. Talented American took a part in the official tests and also competed in practice session for Caterham and Marussia. He has success in GP2 series and if American team decides to pick up local driver, then Rossi probably could be best pick.
