Spanish driver Daniel Juncadella has said that he does not at all regret his departure from Formula 1 and the Force India team, where he served as a reserve pilot last year.

According to him, the restrictions on the tests make the role of the reserve and test drivers some kind of relic of antiquity. That’s why, Juncadella decided to accept the call of Mucke Mercedes team that competes in the DTM.

“Force India is a small team where the financial situation overrides everything else. This year, however, if I had to choose I would opt for another team. At first, it was a good experience, but then everything starting to get repetitive. So I decided to leave. I was assured more days in the car than I got,” lamented the 24-year-old.

Unfortunately, his new start in the DTM series wasn’t impressive as he had to retire from the first race at Hockenheim, while in the second race he finished at 15th place. Juncadella spent the 2013 season driving a Mercedes in DTM and his best result was to get to fourth places at Norisring.
