Lotus will race in Italy despite problems
Lotus Formula 1 team is set to compete at Italian Grand Prix this weekend despite problems.
British-based team is facing uncertain future after former reserve driver Charles Pic took legal action for an alleged breach of contract. That action caused impound of Lotus cars after Belgian Grand Prix by bailiffs. Luckily, trucks with cars and equipment are on the way to Monza and the team will be on the track from Friday to Sunday.
Earlier, Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone helped Lotus to cover the staff wages and helped them take part in Belgian Grand Prix. But now, the only solution to get Lotus out of problems seems to be taking by Renault, which was also confirmed by operations director Alan Permane who said:
“We would welcome them back with open arms obviously”.
