Porsche Carrera Cup Germany Nurburgring – qualifying
The Porsche Carrera Cup weekend which started yesterday continued with qualifying session and a race in the afternoon. The qualifying session was delayed because of fog but that didn’t effect the drivers too much. This round of Carrera Cup Germany is held on famous Nurburgring, but on the short circuit (3,6 kilometers long) which is still a legendary and interesting track just as its bigger brother.
Despite securing his championship title, Philipp Eng didn’t ease the pace and achieved the fastest time on qualifying and pole position for the afternoon race. His result was 1:29.628 which was better than Christian Engelhart‘s result in yesterday’s practice session. Very talented and perspective Porsche Junior Sven Muller was second with only 0.001 part of second difference between him and Eng, so fierce battle from the very start of the race 1 can be expected. Michael Ammermuller and Alex Riberas is going to share second row on the grid and Nicki Thiim and Christian Engelhart will be on the third. We hope that weather conditions don’t get worse by the time of the first race (15:50 CET). For full results click HERE and stay tuned for coverage of race 1 later today.
