Porsche Carrera Cup Germany Oschersleben – race 2
Porsche Carrera Cup Germany race weekend in Oschersleben is over after a race 2 this morning and so is the race for championship title and the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany champion is Austrian Phillip Eng with overall lead in the standings which can not be endangered by other drivers. His wins yesterday and today helped him secure his title with two events and 4 races to go in the 2015 season.
After a big crash yesterday right after the start of the race, all drivers were very careful today on start. Eng started perfectly and found himself in first place in front of Engelhart, Muller and Riberas. Muller managed to advance to second and was very close behind Eng but Eng didn’t make a mistake and drove with constant pace. However, after a mistake, Muller found himself on 7th position behind Christopher Zochling. After an aggressive attack, Muller managed to pass Zochling but damaged the front end of his car. Engelhart was second and Nicki Thiim third but with no real chance to attack Eng. So after 22 laps, Eng deservedly won the second race of the weekend and 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany championship. Next stop is Porsche Mobile1 Supercup in which Eng has great chance to become 2015 champion and if he did so, he will be third driver who managed to be Carrera Cup Germany and Supercup champion in the same season. Before him, Frans Stippler (2003) and Rene Rast (2012) did so. Click HERE for full results.
