YACO Racing opted to keep proven partnership in the new ADAC GT Masters season. Former DTM star Rahel Frey from Switzerland and Philip Geipel from Plauen in Germany will be sharing the cockpit of an Audi R8 for a second year in a row.

“The pairing of Rahel and Philip was our preferred combination and I am very happy that we are in the 2015 season with an unchanged driver duo“, says YACO Racing team boss Uwe Geipel.

“We did very well last year, so I am pleased to be continuing as a member of this team. Now we have more experience and hopefully we will not make same errors in the races”, told Rahel Frey who is focusing on the official pre season testing at Oschersleben.

On that track everyone will get their first chance to try out the new tyres supplied by ADAC GT Masters exclusive partner Pirelli.

“I have already had experience of Pirelli tyres from other racing series. We have a lot of work ahead of us in what’s left of the preseason, because we have to find the best set up for the new tyres”, said Frey.

Philip Geipel is ready for his third season in the ADAC GT Masters behind the wheel of an Audi entered by his father’s team, and he is looking forward to having Frey as his co-driver again.

“We have benefited from Rahel’s experience with Audi R8 and learned a lot. We achieved some good results last year, but often didn’t have luck to turn promising positions into good finishes. For this year, we have set ourselves the target of achieving consistently good results after we already got into the routine from last season“, said Geipel junior.
