RAM Racing joins British GT
GT racing squad RAM Racing have announced that they will compete in British GT 2015. Team has confirmed fielding a Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 with Lewis Plato and Alistair MacKinnon as a drivers.
“It is great for us to be entering a new series. The British GT Championship is very strong, so we were keen to be a part of it. We had great success running the SLS in Dubai 24 hours, our debut race with this car, putting it on the overall podium against some teams which are very experienced in running it. To me, this competition is a new challenge to our team”, said Team Principal Dan Shufflebottom.
Talented driver Lewis Plato (22) is thinking in the same way.
“British GT is going to be brilliant experience and I can’t wait to get started on what will be exciting new development in my career. In Alistair I got fantastic team-mate because he has a strong understanding of GT racing which will help me a lot in my learning year in which I want to develop as much as I can”, commented Plato.
MacKinnon definitely have experience in GT. Previously he has raced with Lotuses in British GT.
“I am absolutely thrilled because of opportunity to return to GT racing. I grabbed this chance with both hands.Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 has potential to be a great car, I felt that from the first time I drove it. Now I am looking to help Lewis and my team to have a great season”, concluded MacKinnon.
The team will be at the official British GT Championship media day at Brands Hatch on Wednesday 26th of March where they will run the Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 on the Indy Circuit configuration.
