Scott Speed gets the X Games gold in the Rallycross Volkswagen Beetle GRC

American driver Scott Speed won the gold medal in the Rallycross category at the X Games in Austin (USA). In the Andretti Volkswagen Beetle GRC the former Formula 1 driver won the heat and then prevailed over his rivals Steve Arpin who came in second (Chip Ganassi Racing) and Sebastian Eriksson as third (Olsbergs MSE) in the final of the x games in Austin.

This was the third gold medal of Speed at the X Games, something that no other driver has achieved. The team-mate of Scott Speed, Tanner Foust, in the second Volkswagen Beetle GRC became fifth in the final, behind Brian Deegan (Chip Ganassi). Sixth was Andreas Bakkerud (SH Racing Rallycross).

“What a fantastic race! This is by far the best medal that I have ever won. The first was something very special, but there was plenty of action on the track today. I’ll definitely be taking another look at the on-board images,” said Scott Speed after his rallycross x games win in Austin.
