Wilson to make Formula E debut in Moscow

Justin Wilson will replace Scott Speed in the seat of Andretti team in the Formula E ePrix race in Moscow next weekend.

 

Experienced 36-year-old British driver got a chance to test himself in the new series after Speed decided to take a part in the rally-cross race home in the USA. Wilson had a successfull career in the CART series in which he won 15 races from 2004 to 2007 and finished twice as a runner-up at the end of the season. He also drove a 2003 season in the Formula 1 switching from Minardi to Jaguar. In 2008 he joined IndyCar series and had some impressive performances.

 

“I am looking forward to making my Formula E debut with Andretti. I have been following the championshp from the start and it is very interesting. I appreciate Michael Andretti giving me this opportunity. I know there is a lot to learn, but I am excited about this new challenge and looking forward to the Moscow race already!” said Wilson.

 

Andretti Formula E Team enters the ninth round of competition in sixth place in the Formula E Team Championship with 88 points.
The inaugural Moscow ePrix takes place on June 6.
