World RX - Hell: Double lead for Team Peugeot-Hansen

Team Peugeot-Hansen achieved a double lead after two qualifying heats during 8th round of World Rallycross Championship at Hell, Norway. Timmy Hansen was third in Heat 1 and won in Heat 2, while Davy Jeanney was 2nd in both heats. They collected 92 and 90 intermediate points respectively and are almost certain for passing to semifinals tomorrow.

Two more qualifying heats are scheduled before semifinals, reserved for 12 drivers, and all 24 competitors can still pass through. Russian driver Timur Timerzyanov showed consistency and after 6th place in Heat 1 and 3rd in Heat 2, he is 3rd overall.

Reigning champion Petter Solberg dominated in free practice earlier today and he was the fastest in Heat 1. In second run he hit a kerb in a first corner and got a puncture. He finished the race but only at 23rd place. In overall standings Solberg is 7th.

DTM star Mattias Ekstrom had a disappointing day with both races under his expectations. He is just 17th in the intermediate standings, so he must push tomorrow to jump into top 12. Another EKS RX driver Anton Marklund was more successful and finished at 5th place overall.
