WTCC/TCR: Rob Huff interested for racing at Macau
Former World touring car champion and current Lada Sport Rosneft driver Rob Huff maybe will have opportunity to race at famous Guia street circuit at Macau in November, where he has won seven times, although this event is not a part of WTCC calendar. This year’s Macau race will be held as last round of TCR International Series on November 20-22.
After WTCC’s season finale in Qatar gets a new date (26/27 November) there was no more a clash between two touring cars events and Huff declares interest to run in Macau. He wants to extend his record run of victories at the Guia circuit race, which was previously the World Touring Car Championship’s season finale from 2005 to 2014. Huff won five times with Chevrolet, once with Münnich Motorsport’s Seat Leon and last year with Lada Granta.
“I’m the most winning touring car driver ever around there and I’d like to try and extend that. There’s obviously a couple more opportunities out there now to get there in touring cars, so I’d relish the chance to get back out to my favourite track”, said Huff to TouringCarTimes. He confirmed that at the moment all options are open and it would also depend on agreement with Lada Sport boss Viktor Shapovalov if he will allow Huff to drive for other team.
