Kyle Busch again - 7th win of the season and 80th career win in the Xfinity Series

  • Kyle Busch, Texas

Kyle Busch wins again! For the seventh time this season, the defending NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion was celebrating in the Victory Lane. Busch wins in the Xfinity Series race O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway. It was his fourth XFS win this year, the eighth victory at Texas and 80th triumph in the series.

Since the beginning of the season, Busch scored two wins in the Sprint Cup races and one win in the Truck Series. With last week’s victories at Martinsville, Busch now has three straight NASCAR wins, and on Saturday night he’ll go for a fourth in the Duck Commander 500 Cup race.

From pole to comfortable victory

His last victory came in a dominant way, after starting from the pole and leading 150 of 200 laps at the 1.5-mile oval. Joe Gibbs Racing’s #18 Toyota Camry again was unbeatable and Busch’s teammate Erik Jones added one more reason for satisfaction, after he finished second.

Team Penske’s Ford of Brad Keselowski took the third spot, ahead of four Chevrolets of JR Motorsports’ drivers Chase Elliott, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Justin Allgaier and Elliott Sadler. Three more Chevrolets of Austin Dillon, Brandon Jones and Ryal Sieg completed the top 10.

Xfinity Series leader Daniel Suarez finished 16th, one lap down, after spinning in Turn 4 on Lap 77. He remained in the lead but his gap over second-place Sadler is now just one point.

The series’ next race is the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300, scheduled next Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway.
