  • E Scooters

With growing concern about the planet, more people than ever before are looking to invest in vehicles that are environmentally friendly. Most of us need some sort of vehicle to get to where we want to go, but a lot of cars on the market cause all sorts of issues, and with the effects of global warming becoming more evident, there are plenty of folks looking for alternatives.

There are car manufacturers out there that have created energy efficient vehicles like Tesla and Nissan, but a lot of people can’t afford these battery operated cars. There are, however, lots of other products readily available that cost a fraction of the price of one of these vehicles.

What is an E-Scooter?

Manual scooters have been around for a very long time. These two wheeled devices are very popular, especially among younger people. Eclectic scooters are pretty much the same, except they have a motor. The e-scooter has been around for 36 years, and in recent times, the industry has exploded.

They are small in size, and you can easily fold them so you can store them in a small area. Although there are plenty of people who have invested in their own scooters, dockless sharing has encouraged more people to give them a go. In a lot of major cities throughout the world, companies like Razor and Bird allow people to rent these scooters, and when they are done, they can bring them back to the docking area where they have rented them from. This motivates people to leave their cars at home. Lots of locals in these cities use these e-scooters on a regular basis, but tourists are also fond of them.

You can Save a Small Fortune by Investing in an E-Scooter

The cost of running a car often puts people in serious debt. The initial cost of the vehicle will burn a big hole in your pocket, but the cost of the fuel, insurance and tax also tends to add up over time. You shouldn’t have to fix a new car, but not everybody can afford a brand new vehicle, so instead, they opt for a second hand car. Cars with a lot of mileage tend to break down regularly, and the cost of fixing them can put people off from buying one.

Even on a tight budget, you should have no issues affording an e-scooter. For a top of the range e-scooter, you might be looking at paying around $500-$2,000. Websites, like ERideHero, have a long list of scooters to choose from, so you should have no problems finding one that fits your budget.

Because these vehicles are battery operated, you don’t need to add any fuel to the device. All you have to do is charge the e-scooters battery now and again. Because e-scooters don’t run off fuel, it is an environmentally friendly mode of transport.

The cost of parking in some parking zones can put people off driving. When you use an e-scooter, you will have lots of different places where you can store the device, or you can bring the scooter around with you. A lot of people like to store their scooters in their backpacks.

An E-Scooter can Save you Time

There is nothing worse than spending the entire day behind a desk, and as soon as your work is complete, you find yourself sitting for hours in a traffic jam. An e-scooter allows you to easily weave in and out of traffic jams, so you can get to your destination in a short space of time.

Maintaining the vehicle won’t take up a lot of your time either. Gone are the days where you have to wait on mechanics to get parts, or for mechanics to make time to fix your car. With an e-scooter, you won’t have to add fuel, change oil, etc. To keep your scooter in good condition, all you need to do is some basic maintenance now and again. You might have to work on the scooter’s tires, wiring, bearing, and brakes, but that’s about it. There are plenty of e-scooter enthusiasts that post videos to streaming platforms like YouTube, showing people how to maintain their e-scooters themselves. The only issue you might face is sourcing the parts for the scooter. However, there are plenty of online marketplaces and websites that sell almost everything you need. Some parts only work on specific models, so make sure you invest in the proper items for your scooter. It might be best to make contact with the manufacturer of the scooter if you want to purchase genuine spare parts. Not only do e-scooters save you time, but energy too.

If you don’t own a car, you might rely on public transport to get you from point A to point B. Not only does the cost of taxis and buses add up over the years, but having to wait around for them can waste a lot of time too. E-scooters give people freedom, something most people who take public transport dream of.

E-scooters are Not Silent, but they are not Noisy Either

Noise pollution is a very big problem, and it can cause a lot of stress. Driving around in a big car, or on a motorbike can frustrate those living in the area. Sleeping is vital for those wanting to maintain a healthy lifestyle, so for those living beside a road, listening to vehicles drive up and down can cause a lot of stress. Trying to work in an area where there’s a lot of noise pollution isn’t easy. Workers find it difficult to focus because of the sound of engines.

Because e-scooters give off very little sound, it doesn’t harm the people working and living around the area. Nobody wants to bother others, especially when they are in their homes or their place of work, so an e-scooter might prove to be a fantastic investment for keeping areas calm and relaxed.

What are the Disadvantages of Driving an E-Scooter

Unfortunately, there are some disadvantages when it comes to driving these quick and agile vehicles.

  • You will need to constantly recharge the batteries: It might take you a lot of time to charge the e-scooters battery, and if you run low on juice while you’re driving around in the city, it might be hard to find a place to recharge it.
  • Not ideal for long journeys: Most cars are built to travel long journeys, but e-scooters are designed for city use.
  • Laws: Before you drive your scooter around the city, make sure you understand the law. The local transport authority might have published content online about the current laws in place. Keep in mind that laws may vary from city to city, so if you are planning on using your e-scooter in another city, make sure you examine the laws before you hit the road.
  • The speed: Although e-scooters are quick vehicles to get you from one area to the next in a city, don’t expect an electrical scooter to drive too fast. However, some e-scooters are faster than others, so before you invest it might be worth your while finding out the vehicle’s top speed.

Although you won’t find yourself driving an e-scooter at 100 MPH, you should make sure that you wear protective gear, especially when you are driving on public roads.
