Nissan announced that the new Z will make its debut in spring 2022. According to reports, production will begin in March this year. The new Nissan Z is touted as the replacement for the 370Z. Featuring an amazing 400 horsepower, twin-turbo 3.0l V6, the much-awaited model produces a 350lb-ft of torque with 1,600-5,600 rpm. The new generation of sports cars made by one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electric vehicles (EV), is not only good-looking, but also brings an entire suite of electronic safety aids to make driving pleasant and safer.

The Z Range

Japanese automaker Nissan proved that it is possible to assemble high-performance cars at an affordable price enabling generations to relish the pure enjoyment of driving a sports car. Its history of producing high performing vehicles is followed by car buffs worldwide. From the first-generation Nissan Fairlady Z to the seventh gen Z, sports cars developed by the brand were widely popular. Within different models, there was also stiff competition to select which generation is the best in performance.

For example, the 350z vs 370z debate is no secret. Deciding which one to buy hinges on several factors. The 350Z whipped up 280hp which was decent power at that time. It was redesigned in 2008 and was known as the 370Z. Both are powerful cars, but the 370Z is more aggressive because of its bigger engine. Despite its heavier weight, it is still fast and can cover a quarter mile in 12.5s compared to the 13.5s clocked in by its rival. The two are also attractive with timeless designs, so either way you get a nice-looking ride for years to come. However, critics still say that the simpler design of the 350Z makes it the better looking of the 2 models.

2023 Nissan Z

It is understandable that there is much excitement for the newest Z model to hit the market. The new Nissan Z is touted as the ‘most powerful sports car’ of the Z range with its incredible 400hp engine. Crafted from lightweight aluminum, its low weight makes it easy to accelerate and fuel efficiency is improved.  It will be offered as a standard 6-speed manual transmission complete with launch control and rev-matching or as a 9-speed automatic transmission. Both versions feature limited slip differential, brawnier brakes, sports exhaust, and Bridgestone performance tires.

Shift your gaze to the interior and you’ll see a high-tech cockpit, an all-new interior designed for the driver first. There’s the iconic ‘triple gauge pod cluster’ to easily monitor readings on the dashboard. A 9-inch  NissanConnect touchscreen infotainment system, Bose stereo, snug seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel, and paddle shifters are some of the exciting features available in the new model. Colors are available in single or two-tones to give buyers the opportunity to personalize their rides, stand out, or blend in. Prices are not yet confirmed, but it is rumored to retail at $40,000. However, considering that the outgoing model’s base price is around $30,000 something, the starting price might be around this figure.

The 7th generation Nissan Z is creating a lot of excitement among sports car aficionados, and it is easy to understand why. It is a modern, powerful, and handsome-looking sports car that is also affordable.
