Another change in the LADA Sport team
LADA Sport ROSNEFT team decided to make another change in the drivers line-up before the World Touring Car Championship round in Moscow.
After Jaap van Lagen jumped into the seat of James Thompson, another new face in the Russian team is Nick Catsburg. The Dutshman, 27, will replace Mikhail Kozlovskiy and with compatriot van Lagen and Rob Huff will form LADA’s line-up for the fifth round of the WTCC season. It is unknown whether Kozlovskiy will drive for the team again.
Catsburg has achieved considerable success in sportscar and endurance events. His last major success was Championship title in the Eurocup Megane Trophy back in 2010.
“The LADA Vesta WTCC car is something completely new to me. The first laps during the test at Magny-Cours were a big surprise as this car really requires specifing driving style with all that power on the front axle. After more laps in I started to get used to the car and really started to enjoy driving“, said Catsburg and added: “This will be a completely new challenge for me, but with the help of the team and my experienced teammates I am sure we can do well“.
