Abdulaziz Al Faisal (full name: Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Saud) is a Saudi race car driver born on 4th of June 1983. He is one of more promising drivers from Middle East and member of Saudi royal family with a title of a Prince. His racing career started in 2005 when he participated in Formula BMW racing centre race series. In 2009 he started racing in Middle Eastern Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge and become a championship title holder in 2010. From that moment he concentrated to endurance racing and participated in many such events like 24h Dubai Race with Saudi Falcons, FIA GT3 World Championship and Radical Masters AUH. He also won a 2012 Middle Eastern Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge for the second time in his racing career.

 

After the success in those series, Prince Abdulaziz was invited to participate in 2012 24 Hours of Le Mans driving for Porsche factory team and behind the wheel of a Porsche 997 GT3-RSR. Unfortunately, after 180 laps he was out of the race but he caught the Le Mans fever and came back in 2013 and 2014 racing a Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 and finishing 10th (2013) and 7th (2014) in class, which are respectable results. He also participated in German ADAC GT Masters championship where he was only Arab driver. He achieved a significant success finishing third on one of first races and putting himself in media spotlight as one of rising GT racing stars.

Abdulaziz AlFaisal or ATF as his friends call him is important driver and figure in Middle Eastern racing world as an experienced driver with potential in GT championships and a strong link between European and Middle Eastern racing scene. His performance on Le Mans and on the other endurance races are quite good and the audience should expect him to become European champion same as he was in his homeland.
