The first ADAC GT Masters weekend at Oschersleben presented us with two interesting races and the first trophies in the season for Nissan in the Gentlemen class.

In the first race on Saturday, Marc Gassner and Florian Strauss of MRS GT-Racing ranked ninth overall, but were undoubtedly the best in the Gentlemen class. Gassner was unlucky in the second race on Sunday because he was disqualified after ignoring the stop-and-go penalty on his pit-stop.

Sunday also was a joyus day for MRS GT-Racing after its car #22 won the race and clinched a double in the Gentlemen’s class. Dominic Jost and Florian Scholze were in good form finishing eighth overall and are now definitely going to race with high levels of self confidence.

“The race went well. I took over in the 11th place and drove the car to a 8th place finish. The pace of the car was good and I was able to keep up with the others. Last season, we weren’t able to finish eighth in the overall classification, so from that perspective we are highly satisfied,” said Dominic Jost.

His driving partner Florian Scholze echoed his sentiments: “I had a superb scrap with Diego Alessi in which I had to back down, so as not risk anything. Then I tried to go with a flow which worked out well. There was no danger from behind and all in all it was pretty quiet race. Apart from Alessi, nobody overtook me and I have to say that I am more than satisfied.”
