The all-new Mercedes-AMG GT S will be one of the cars in action at next month’s Race Of Champions at London’s former Olympic Stadium. This is the first Mercedes-AMG ever to be raced at a ROC event, joining a range of exciting machinery in the 2015 paddock. The cars will be raced by a stunning line-up featuring motorsport legends and champions from various competitions.

This will be the first time that Mercedes-AMG has provided cars for the competitive element of the Race Of Champions – where drivers always compete in identical machinery on the very same track. But that’s not all: the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, newly crowned 2015 FIA Formula One World Champion Constructor for the second year in a row, will also bring its race-winning F1 car to the Race Of Champions to perform demonstration runs as part of the busy programme of shows supporting the two main races.

ROC president Fredrik Johnsson said: “At the Race Of Champions we take pride not only in the driving talent we attract, but also the wide range of machinery they get the chance to compete in. The Mercedes-AMG GT S is a stunning addition to our line-up of cars and it is sure to be popular both with the drivers lucky enough to push it to its limits and the crowds who get to watch. We’re also delighted to welcome back the race-winning Mercedes Formula 1 car as part of our packed programme of shows supporting the racing. If you want to sample the sights and sounds of the peak of motor sport technology there is no better place than an enclosed environment like this. Anyone coming to London’s former Olympic Stadium next month should prepare to be well and truly dazzled.”

Full car line-up for 2015 ROC will be announced later. Seven vehicles were used last year – Audi R8 LMS, KTM X-Bow, ROC Car and Chevrolet Camaro from previous years with Ariel Atom Cup, Stadium Super Truck and Volkswagen Polo RX as debuting cars.
