No action against Sainz and Kvyat
The stewards at Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix opted not to take any action against Carlos Sainz and Daniil Kvyat despite the incident in the last lap.
Toro Rosso and Red Bull drivers had been under investigation after clashing in Turn 1 when Sainz tried to pass Kvyat in a battle for the ninth place. The race stewards were questioning if the young Spanish driver had taken unfair advantage and had whether the Russian driver had caused collision while he was defending his position.
After hearing Sainz and Kvyat and reviewing video evidence, the stewards finally decided not to take any action as both drivers said it was simply a racing accident.
That means both drivers retained their positions. Sainz stays ninth and Kvyat tenth at Spanish GP.
