One of decisions at latest FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting in Paris was a confirmation of 2016 calendar for Formula 3 European Championship. The competition was shortened to ten events, instead of eleven as in previous two seasons.

The championship will start at Circuit Paul Ricard on April 3rd, during the WTCC weekend. Second race at Hungaroring (April 24th) also is a part of WTCC weekend. Both Paul Ricard and Hungaroring are the new venues on the list, compared to season 2015. Third new track is Imola, while Silverstone, Monza and Portimao are out of the list. In 2015 calendar had two events at Hockenheimring, in 2016 it will be only one.
